HISTORY OF KONG KONG VILLAGE

There is two (2) history that we have determained from the villager about Kampung Kongkong :

1.       One day, a villagers always heard the dog bark “gonggong”. On that time the village dont have a name. Because of “gonggong” bark from the dog. A villagers give a name to the vilagges “kongkong”. Untill now the villages was named to the Kong Kong Villages.

2. On the others history. About 200 years ago. This village was been explored by a person name Tahir. During that time he cross the road using a boat around the village because surrounding of this village was river. After that he sent his men to make a road on land. They cut the tree to make a road and suddenly one of them nearly fall “menjongkong”. On the time this village dont have a name yet. Then he named the village to the “Kong Kong Village”.

Located at Kong Kong road, Johor. A lot of activities about agro and nature. Can visit tropical fruit orchards and feeling the nature. Suitable for school camping, family days and event about the nature.

• Titian Jaya Restaurant

One of the famous seafood restaurant at Pasir Gudang is seafood restaurant Titian Jaya. This restaurant located near the Sungai Kong Kong and it inside the Kong Kong Laut village. Here,they serve their meals  from fresh ingredient that supply from the fisherman of Kong Kong village. They preserve the fish at the pool near the restaurant , so they only catch the fish when to serve to keep the freshness.They also provide a room for people that came to Sungai Kong Kong for fishing near at the raft.

• Fishing Activity

Angling Centre: Yaacob Marso

Located at Sungai Kong Kong. This fishing center was owned by a Bumiputera named Yaakob Marso also known Pak Kob. Started with a small business , now have own more than 40 boats. Provide a boats rental service, fishing at the raft, fishing package and much more.

Angling Centre: Rumah Rakit Hujung

There is a lot of fishing center nearest with Sungai Kong Kong. Fishing was the famous activity in Sungai Kong Kong area. The villager had advantage on Sungai Kong Kong to make a business such as fishing center, boat rental, seafood restaurant and much more. It is show that Sungai Kong Kong was the pulse for the villager as a source of income.
